The project has been created for construction and operation of the main pipeline of more than 1,5 thousand km length (including 452 km on Kazakhstan’s territory), which connects Western Kazakhstan oil field (Tengiz, Karachaganak) with Russian coast of Black Sea (“Southern Ozereevka” terminal close to Novorossiysk), where oil proceeds further to the world markets.

CPC expansion project started in 2011 and its purpose is to increase mechanical capacity of CPC main pipeline from 28 mln to 67 mln tone of raw oil a year. This is the second stage of pipeline expansion which originally was technically and economically proved taking into account further increase of extracted oil volumes for Kazakhstan to Russia delivery.

The result of modernization and expansion of the project shall be increase of oil pipeline mechanical capacity in more than two times due to construction of new production facilities. Kazakhstan being part of a project includes part of pipeline system from Tengiz to Russian Federation border.
