Project name

Construction of the railway line "Zhezkazgan-Beyneu": construction of external power supply facilities on a “turnkey” basis at “Beyneu” station – “Shalkar” station site

Realization period

July, 2012 - December, 2014.

Project geography

Aktyubinskaya and Mangistauskaya areas, Republic of Kazakhstan

Client

 “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy” National Company” JSC

General description of the project

The new railway line "Beyneu — Shalkar" shall pass through Shalkarsky and Bayganinsky regions of western areas of the republic within the national railway system.

Main objectives of the project:

- rationalization of intra republican transport economic relations;

- optimization of export message of the country;

- increase of capacity level for transit streams;

- improvement of social and economic conditions in the region.

Thus, construction of a railway line in the long term will allow optimizing rail transportation by reducing both freights delivery and excessive run periods.

Important feature of project’s social importance is also provision for new workplaces and, as a consequence, increase of a region’s population employment rate. Thus, manpower from   Bayganinsky and Shalkarsky regions of Aktyubinskaya area and Beyneusky region of Mangistauskaya area is involved to the project.

Description of project works realized by “Promstroy-Energo” company

“Promstroy-Energo” company carries out “turnkey” construction of external power supply facilities on the “Beyneu” station – “Shalkar” station site within this project. The result of our company’s involvement in this project is reliable and qualitative power supply of “Beyneu” – Shalkar” railway line objects.

“Promstroy-Energo” company’s scope of designing work within this project is:

 - conduction of exploration (engineering and hydrogeological and engineering and topographical) works in required by the project scope of work;

- conduction of project works considering local climate conditions;

- development of working documentation, its approval;

- pass of state examination.

The scope of specified power supply network works is the following:

  • Expansion of open switchgear on “Beyneu” SS 110/35/6kV with installation of 2 circuit breakers;
  • Reconstruction and expansion of open switchgear on “Shalkar” SS 110/35/10kV with installation of 3 circuit breakers;

Construction of two-chained overhead transmission line of 110kV class tension and 254km length on reinforce concrete supports at “Beyneu-Tassay” site with connection to three substations (“Turush” SS-110/10kV (as per 110-4H scheme); "Kursay" SS-110/10kV (as per 110-5AH scheme ); "Tassay" SS-110/10kV (as per 110-12 scheme) with installation of UR 110kV of 25 MVA tension);

-  construction of "Shukyr" and "Baykadam" SS-110-10kV (as per 110-5AH scheme) on a “Tassay – Shalkar” site;

- construction of one-chain overhead transmission line "Tassay – Shalkar" of 110 kV on ferroconcrete supports of ÀÑ -120 wire 217 km length.]

Distinctive feature in power supply of railway line “Shalkar-Beyneu” is the fact there is no current electric power supply line between the two.

Power supply of these areas (Aktyubinskaya and Mangistauskaya areas) is provided separately from each other, there is intersystem line communication through networks of Russia. The nearest substation in Mangistauskaya area is "Beyneu” SS-110/6 kV of ". The nearest substation in Aktyubinskaya area is " Shalkar” SS- 110/35/10 kV ".

About one hundred people and more than 50 units of equipment of “Promstroy-Energo” company are involved in construction of external power supply. All the personnel involved in project realization has required qualification and many years of experience of construction of power supply facilities of diverse difficulty level which allows ensuring high quality of performed works and comply with timeline.

Construction materials and equipment are mostly of native production: 80% of materials and equipment are produced in Kazakhstan and 20% are of foreign origin.
