"Promstroy-Energo" company has completed the project "Construction of 500 kV Shulbinskaya HPP (Semey) - Aktogai - Taldykorgan - Alma HV line"

Construction of 500 kV “Shulbinskaya HPP (Semey) - Aktogai - Taldykorgan – Alma” HV line is the second phase of development of North - East - South intersystem high-voltage power transmission lines. Construction of the new power transmission line is focused on the following objectives:

- increasing electric power supply reliability to the consumers in the East Kazakhstan, Karaganda and Almaty regions;

- increasing the transit capacity of the national power grid in the North-South Kazakhstan, strengthening ties with the East region;

- power supply to the electrified railway sections and energy-intensive facilities in mining regions;

- creating conditions for the development of border regions of the Republic;

- ensuring future demand for power supply as well as the possibility to export power outside the RoK.

The project envisages the construction of the following facilities:

- construction of the 500 kV Taldykorgan – Alma HV line with the length of 206.7 km;

- construction of the 500 kV Aktogai – Taldykorgan HV line with the length of 285.6 km;

- construction of the 500 kV Semey – Aktogai HV line with the length of 390.8 km

-  construction of a site of the 220 kV Taldykorgan – Saryozek HV line with the length of 143.4 km

- construction of a 500/220/10 kV Taldykorgan SS;

- construction of a 500/220/10 kV Aktogai SS;

- reconstruction of the 500/220/10 kV Semey SS;

- reconstruction and expansion of the 500/220/10 kV Alma SS.

Complex works within the scope of the project will be carried out by the Promstroy-Energo on a turnkey basis. Construction of the high-voltage power line between the East and South Kazakhstan will be implemented over four years from 2014 to 2018.

The project customer is “KEGOC” JSC, the system operator of the unified power system in the Republic of Kazakhstan.
