“PromStroyEnergo” company has completed works at “KEGOC” project on construction of Alma SS 500kV with connection to Kazakhstan National Power Network with 500, 220kV lines (I stage)

During the project realization period, 2010-2014, “PromStroyEnergo” company has completed the following scope of works:

- Construction of “Alma” SS 500/220/10kV with installation of two autotransformer groups of ОДFSZ – 167000/500, reactor group of BKD – 60000/500;

-  Construction of “Alma” OHTL500kV – “Almaty” SS of more than 62km length

-  Construction of OHTL-220kV calls АТЭЦ-3 – “Shelek” SS at the “Alma” SS-500kV

-  Construction of OHTL-220kV calls АТЭЦ-3 – “Robot” SS at the “Alma” SS-500kV

The purposes of the “Construction of Alma SS 500kV with connection to Kazakhstan National Power Network  with 500, 220kV lines (I stage) project are the following :

- ensuring reliable power supply for Almatinskiy region, first turn power output of “Balhashskaya” heat power station (1320 MVt)

- availability of technical capacity for development of satellite towns in Almaty city, construction of an industrial park in Almaty city, creation of a touristic park in Almatinskaya area

“Alma” SS has become the first substation of 500kV constructed during Independent Kazakhstan. According to the early implemented projects expansion of the existing substations were carried out.

Construction completion and successful commissioning of the new substation has significantly increased reliability of power supply in Almaty and Almatinskaya area.
